Articulation and Dual
Enrollment,
High School Graduation and
Postsecondary Entrance Alignment
Committee
Section
59-59-210 of the EEDA calls for the Commission on Higher
Education's Advisory Committee on Academic Programs (ACAP)
to address articulation agreements between school districts
and public institutions of higher education in South Carolina so as
to provide seamless pathways for adequately prepared students to move
from high school directly into institutions of higher education, two-year
regional campuses, and technical colleges.
In doing so, they are to review,
revise, and recommend secondary to postsecondary articulation agreements,
promote the development of measures to certify equivalency in content
and rigor for all courses included in these agreements and make
recommendations to the Commission on Higher Education regarding coursework
acceptable statewide for transfer within a related course of study.
The
committee chair is Dr. Gail
Morrison,
Interim Director of the South Carolina Commission on Higher
Education. The Department of Education's liaison to the committee is Dr. Sabrina Moore.
Along with the five other committees working under
the Coordinating Council, the Articulation and
Dual Enrollment,
High School Graduation and
Postsecondary Entrance Alignment
Committee provides updates on their work at the Council meetings and when provided
as powerpoint files, these reports are posted on this site at the Powerpoints link.
